Mat Sabu arrested over alleged Bukit Kepong

Mat Sabu arrested over alleged Bukit Kepong PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu has been arrested by police in connection with his alleged remarks on the Bukit Kepong incident. Mohamad, or Mat Sabu, had voluntarily gone to the state police headquarters at 8.30pm before he was detained. He was released on bail at 9.05pm. Mat Sabu is expected to be charged for criminal defamation under Section 500 of the Penal Code on Wednesday. The political stalwart, popularly known as Mat Sabu, was driven to the state Police headquarters under escort at about 8.40pm after arriving by flight at the Penang International Airport, following a warrant that had been served on him earlier in the day. However, he was released on bail later. He is scheduled to be charged at the Butterworth Sessions court under section 500 of the Penal Code tomorrow for allegedly making a statement liable to lead to public mischief during a ceramah in Tasek Gelugor on August 21. Penang Police Chief Datuk Wira Ayub Yaakub said due process will be followed in the case which involves criminal defamation. The offence carries a jail sentence for a maximum of two years, or a fine, or a combination of both, upon conviction. Ayub said more than 1,000 police reports have been lodged across the country since Mohamad was reported to have made the comments at the ceramah. “Many ex-policemen, and descendants and relatives of the victims of Bukit Kepong have lodged reports and complaints with regards to his statement,” Ayub said. He said Mohamad was alleged to have defamed the victims who were believed by many people to have sacrificed and struggled for the country. “What he said may denigrate the good names of these people,” he said. “With the current effort, we hope the case can be resolved.” Mat Sabu arrested over alleged Bukit Kepong

Metta World Peace to Ron Artest | Ron Artest has changed its name to World Peace Metta
A brief hearing in Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday morning made it official - Ron Artest has changed its name to World Peace Metta.

According to the spokeswoman for Artest, Courtney Barnes, Artest was not present for the decision, but his lawyer, Nahla Rajan, represented his client in front of Commissioner Matthew C. St. George.

, [Rajan] approached, the judge said,  We understand that he wants to change his name and he wants to do it for personal reasons , and was awarded , Barnes said.  was it. It was so fast.
Artest initial request to change its name last month was postponed due to a failure to pay a parking ticket in circulation.

Once we discover about the preliminary hearing, since they were able to track the ticket, which was immediately taken care , Barnes said.

Artest's daughter eight years old, Diamond also plans to change his surname from Artest for World Peace, now that his father's name change became official.

This process had to go through [Friday] and be cool before there is any exercise that  Barnes said.

Metta will be the first name and means, such as friendship, love and kindness , Artest told Stephen A. 710 ESPNLA Smith earlier this month.  World Peace will be the last name, so everyone can get ready to buy their shirts World Peace.

Artest said he plans to use No. 70 next season, but the NBA has rules that prevent players from changing his uniform number from year to year. The deadline for the player to change his number is in early March to have it take effect for next season and once a number is changed, it has to be used for five seasons with the team before a player is allowed change it (unless it was negotiated with a new team, or leave as a free agent).

Artest wore No. 37 after signing as a free agent with the Lakers in 2009-10 and did switch to No. 15 last season. It is not clear what he had to do to achieve this.

The uniform rule does not come with stipulations for a name change, however.
If a claim or circumstance that requires a number change within five years is approved, it can come at a cost of some kind, according to a league source.

Isabella Loh wildlife Night Safari axes Halloween Horrors event

The Night Safari has retained an event for  Halloween - even if tickets were sold in 1000 - because of comments that  it n  has no relevance to conservation.

Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS) has pulled the plug just two weeks before Halloween Horrors was to take place on weekends between September 30 and October 30.

Thursday, WRS, which manages the Night Safari, said the decision was taken  because of the negative feedback received from companies, friends of the zoo, the public and the media on  event in particular relevance to conservation.

Isabelle Loh, director and newly installed CEO of the group, added that  he endorsed the comments made by President Tony Tan Keng Yam, and that \WRS parks should be more than  family activities- bonding and healthy. \ On Sunday, Dr Tan has been at the Singapore Zoo to celebrate Mid-Autumn, when he says: \These family ties, I think, is very important to Singapore because we need to create informal opportunities where families, children can bond with their parents and grandparents. It is the best way to build a sense of  unity and comfort within the family.

Volkswagen.Das Auto.Show 2011at the Bukit Jalil Stadium carpark – admission is free!

Volkswagen Group Malaysia is waiting to be a bigger player in the Malaysian market, and soon will have some models assembled locally to fight alongside the fully imported variants of the brand.

ERC models, starting with the Passat, will be more competitively priced and are sure to increase the volume significantly. The offensive of the brand begins now and is using the Auto.Show VGM Volkswagen.Das 2011 to convince the Malays that VW is  people's car  for us.

Located in the parking lot of the Bukit Jalil National Stadium, the Auto.Show Das is a showcase of big budget for VW cars and technology. Comprising a  Dome Mega  and  Dome Caterpillar  temporary structures are clearly visible targets from the main road. There is also a giant poster affixed to the stage to tell everyone why he has been sitting in traffic.

We attended the preview session for the VIPs and the media last night and was impressed by the magnitude of this  roadshow. As far as I remember, never before seen a showcase Malaysia elaborate and expensive this magnitude, and the audience yesterday were captivated by the spectacle. It looked more like a night of major engine VW Group preview show that a local event, and it was obvious VGM was best to impress.
Mega Dome (42m diameter, 21m high) is presented in the style auditorium with an elevated ring to see 12 cars in motion a cycle of 360 u200b u200bgrados around. A backdrop is projected on the walls of the dome of an effect of virtual reality, and there is a huge VW logo in the top of the igloo like structure.

VGM said to be the largest all-dome projection system of its kind in the world. Cars like the new Beetle, Golf and Passat, Passat Sedan, Sedan Polo, Amarok, CrossTouran, Pheaton and Scirocco R is shown and described here.
Caterpillar Dome connection on the other hand, is a curve of 100 meter long creature form. Supported by the air and free of columns, which houses the models currently sold as the Eos GTI VGM, and the TSI Golf, Touareg and Polo. There is also a large area of \u200b\u200bF u0026amp; B merchandise booths.

The exhibition offers the public a deeper understanding of why the resources of the Volkswagen drivers of more than 150 countries. The exhibition explains the vision of Volkswagen motivates consumer confidence, which represents German engineering and reliability  said Ricky Tay, MD VGM.

The best thing for the public is that admission is free. The Auto.Show Volkswagen.Das 2011 will be open this weekend (10-11 September) from 10am till 10pm. What can you expect to see there?

The whole of human history, there were a few outbreaks in human disease. It was the plague, Spanish flu, SARS and bird flu to name a few, but what happens when the next pandemic hits. To what extent and spread rapidly to the global economy? Warner Bros. along with director Steven Soderbergh (Traffic, Oceans Eleven), try to answer these questions in the new film, infection.

If you can imagine, a woman (Gwyneth Paltrow, Iron Man) has a level of flu, you have to touch the surface while the flat, who is doing the same air o breathing, and then you have probably, if he comes home and sees her husband (Matt Damon, The Bourne Identity), and the child... and so on and so forth. So Soderbergh infection gets out of a very fast, and  All-in-real , start-to-life in the fast, stylized direction and rapid cuts to help convey how fast way to the microscopic killer to permeate modern society.

The first attack on the pandemic outbreak quickly switch between the modes of focus that this global crisis, the effects of the different people around the world - including the group's administrators and scientists from the Centers for Disease Control (Laurence Fishburne - The Matrix, Kate Winslet - Titanic, Jennifer Ehle - Pride and Glory), a World Health Organization for Accountants (Marion Cotillard, Inception), an overzealous blogger (Jewish Law, Sherlock Holmes), and a Chinese official (Chin Han, The Dark Knight). The incredible star-star cast, and some of the best performance for their careers.

While this type of storytelling is very difficult to pull off, Soderbergh is a veteran of this great land of the film and the story moves easily thrown together with finesse and what you expect from him, but over the years. At very high these days, to complete a crowd during an entire movie, but infection accomplish this task, where the entire audience at the film brought the story to an explosion in the theater had been seized, and no one noticed.

While the infection is a wonderful film, it is certainly not for everyone. Although the film  maybe PG-13 rating, the psychological factor of the \\; close-to-life  film may cause some people to party go out there like Jaws people are afraid of water, after put them into the cinemas.

The tournament began in 1921, when it was called the Malaya Cup. The original trophy was presented by the officers and men of a British battleship, the HMS Malaya. In honour of this, the competition was renamed the HMS Malaya Cup in 1933. A new trophy was inaugurated in 1967, and since then the competition has been known as the Malaysia Cup. A rugby union tournament of the same name, was started in parallel with the football cup, and still bears the same name. A league competition was introduced in Malaysia in 1982. Since then, the Malaysia Cup has been held after the conclusion of the league each year, with only the best-performing teams in the league qualifying for the Malaysia Cup. When the league began, it was intended primarily as a qualifying tournament for the Malaysia Cup. However over the years, the league competition has gained important stature in its own right.
In 2003, Selangor MPPJ became the first club team to win the cup. Prior to that year, the two teams which made the final had always been representative sides of the regional Football Associations, or military teams.
Teams representing two of Malaysia's neighbouring countries have been involved in the competition. Brunei won the cup in 1999 and continue to be involved (though in recent years they have been represented by the club side Brunei DPMM FC, whereas initially their team was organized by the Football Association of Brunei). Singapore used to enter a team organized by the Football Association of Singapore. Their team won the cup 24 times and are the second most successful side in the competition's history after Selangor. However after their last win in 1994, Singapore withdrew from the competition following a dispute with the Football Association of Malaysia (FAS) over gate receipts and have not been involved since. In 2011, FAS announced that Singapore would be back to join the Malaysia Cup in 2012

WikiLeaks - Former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo

WikiLeaks - Former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo
Former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo defied the US government when she placed the entire country under a state of emergency in February 2006 during the 20th anniversary of EDSA people power.
Several alleged diplomatic cables from the US embassy in Manila published by anti-secrecy website WikiLeaks show that American envoys stated their firm opposition to the imposition of emergency rule during separate meetings with Arroyo and other government and military officials a few months before the Palace issued Proclamation No. 1021.

Cable 05MANILA5328, classified secret and dated November 14, 2005, states that then Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Southeast Asia Eric John met Arroyo, Foreign Secretary Alberto Romulo, and defense officials 3 days earlier wherein he reiterated Washington's stand against any form of emergency rule in the Philippines.
"Both Arroyo and Romulo indicated that they consider emergency rule, as provided for by the Constitution, to be a legitimate option.  Other senior officials have told us that emergency rule is under active consideration, but reassured us that it is unlikely to be imposed imminently," the cable said.
The phrase "martial law" was not used in the discussions.
John told Arroyo that emergency measures may "trigger a review of US defense-related and other assistance to the Philippines."

"The President responded only with a defiant stare," the cable stated.
The defiant stare would turn out into Proclamation No. 1021 that Presidential spokesperson Ignacio Bunye announced on the morning of February 24, 2006.
The Palace justified the proclamation by saying it foiled an alleged uprising against the government.
The state of national emergency forced the temporary suspension of lower-level classes and barred demonstrations and protests.
Public gatherings were banned and the writ of habeas corpus was suspended, which allowed security forces to arrest people and detain them indefinitely.
The state of emergency was lifted a week later after cases were filed against opposition figures, including militant lawmakers and military figures.

Wikileaks - Lee Kuan Yew

Wikileaks - Lee Kuan Yew
Lee Kuan Yew rejected the WikiLeaks cable claim by saying that it’s false. According to Channel News Asia, he reiterated that nowhere does it record him describing Islam as “venomous.” However, he did talk about radical Islamic fundamentalists such as the Jemaah Islamiyah, and reinforced that Singapore Muslim leaders are rational, as “moderate” Muslims are urged to be critical of Muslim “radicals.”
From Lee’s press secretary:
The cable claimed that in my meeting with Senator Clinton, I had “characterized Islam as a ‘venomous religion’. This is false. I looked up MFA’s filenote of the meeting. Nowhere does it record me describing Islam as “venomous”, nor did I say anything which could have given that impression.
I did talk about extremist terrorists like the Jemaah Islamiyah group, and the jihadist preachers who brainwashed them. They are implacable in wanting to put down all who do not agree with them. So their Islam is a perverted version, which the overwhelming majority of Muslims in Singapore do not subscribe to.
I also pointed out that our Muslim leaders are rational, and that the ultimate solution to extremist terrorism was to give moderate Muslims the courage to stand up and speak out against radicals who have hijacked Islam to recruit volunteers for their violent ends.
The media release by Lee’s press secretary appears to fit most of the points released by the WikiLeaks cable, especially on how “moderate” Muslims should be encouraged to be critical of radical Islam and to propagate only “moderate” Islam and not “radical” Islam. The only difference is that the WikiLeaks cable recorded Lee to have characterized Islam as a “venomous religion.”
Here’s my take on the issue: that term, “venomous religion,” has been taken out of context, and has caused an uproar. There is a high probability that Lee was referring to “radical” Islam as a “perverted version” of the religion, and is therefore “venomous”. Though we’re not quite sure sure what “radical” or “moderate” or “perverted” version of Islam means to Lee, we can make a logical inference that Lee is referring to a certain brand of Islam that does not characterize Islam as a whole.
However, instead of justifying the controversial term as something that has been taken out of context, his press secretary goes on to deny that Lee has ever said that, probably to avoid any potential public backlash. This makes the issue all the more contentious, because the evidence given is “MFA’s filenote of the meeting” – which we know is highly unreliable since it is a filenote taken on Lee’s side -  and thus, there can be no possible corroboration of evidence.
As a result, the media release looks all the more suspicious because of the almost perfect fit of Lee’s claims, other than the last part on “venomous religion”. Ultimately, to disprove rather than to clarify is probably not the best crisis management move, as this might only raise suspicions and exacerbate the controversy, which is very sensitive for a multiracial country like Singapore.

The author would like to point out that given the difficulty of verifying the authenticity of the Wikileaks cable, the views expressed above are purely inferences, and are her own.

Singapore vs Iraq - Result

Singapore lose again this time with Iraq

Singapore 0 – Iraq 2 (Asia World Cup Qualifying, September 6, 2011)

Singapore suffered its second successive defeat in the World Cup qualifier third round match at the Jalan Besar stadium on Tuesday evening. Singapore lost 0-2 against Iraq, after its 1-2 defeat against China last Friday.

Both teams needed to win after losing their opening encounters last week.

Newly-elected Singapore President, Tony Tan Keng Yam, was among the 6,000 sell-out crowd rooting for a Singapore victory.

Despite complaining about the artificial pitch, the Iraqis had more possession and chances at the Singapore goal. But they could not make it count, with the first-half ending goalless.

Five minutes after the restart, the Iraqis were one up, with Ala'a Abdulzehra heading into the back of the net.

Singapore's best chance fell to Shahril Ishak in the 64th minute. But the Iraqis went on to seal the match with a goal by Younis Mahmood at the 86th minute.

Singapore plays Jordan next at the same venue on October 11.

Singapore 018940

Date:
3 and 4 September

Time:
4.00pm to 8.00pm.

Admission:

Kite Festival Singapore 2011, which is in its third year running, the Indoor Kite Fiesta aimed to showcase the gravity-defying wonders of windless kite-flying, a trend that is fast picking up interest in cities where open space is scarce and the weather unpredictable. The technique of flying and the type of kite is what defines indoor kite-flying, which can be practiced inside buildings and in almost any windless environment.

Indoor Kite Fiesta is a run-up to September’s Kite Flying Days at The Promontory @ Marina Bay. Jointly organized by NTUC Income and children’s theater company, Act 3 International, the week-long event featured a star-studded line-up of international indoor kite-flying experts such as John Barresi (pictured), an award-winning American kite-flyer, Qian Jian Guo from China and Singapore’s Cheong Chun Ti.
Indoor kite-flying is already a popular sport in Europe and the USA.

Compared to conventional kite-flying, it is a more demanding sport requiring precise techniques and body movements to compensate for the windless environment. Indoor kites are made with super-strong, lightweight fabric as well as composite carbon rods, and can range from one to five meters in size.

Dragon Nest Sea Unable to Load Patch Config List| Dragon Nest Sea Forum

Dragon Nest is a F2P(Free to Play) MMORPG with "Asian Graphics" as some people like to call it. Dragon Nest has many hosts, one for example (many people may already quit for this one, but here I go..)Nexon America, Nexon Korea, SDO (Chinese), The Taiwanese and Japanese hosts (I'm sadly unaware of their names) The movement controls are like any other MMO, but Dragon Nest is only so different from many other

MMO's because of its combat system. Most games target mobs and you just stand there pressing buttons to activate skill without moving at all. But Dragon Nest is an action MMO whereas instead of targeting mobs you have an actual X on the UI as a targeter and you attack, so you don't click a monster and press 1234, but instead you have to go to the monster and attack it with you skill (It's rather confusing to explain but bare with me. Look at the media section for a much, much, much easier way of understand the combat system.) and to use regular attacks youclick.

Skills are the same though, 1234 to use skills but you have to have your X (Targeter) somewhat on the mob to be able to hit them, or your attack will probably just miss.

EuDN is not yet created, so europeans have to stick with SeaDN or any of the other servers. Note that there ARE english patches to translate
the clients, the english is definetely not the best, but it's somewhat understandable. There's thousands of fluent english speakers in cDN though, and many english guilds. If you're stuck on a server to choose while waiting for the Sea OBT or the NA OBT I definetely recommend cDN for a bigger english-speaking population with guilds that help you throughout the game.

During the Open Beta period from August 16 - 22, you can receive 500 DN Points each day by simply logining to the game. DN Points can be used to buy premium items in the Cash Shop. Take a look at the Cash Shop here and get ready for a shopping.
There are also some cool incentives for your leveling. Each time you level up, you will not only enjoy becoming stronger and unlocking new ability, but only can get various supplies. From level 2 to level 24, you will be granted certain items, potions, scrolls, and outfits with time limit, etc. Check out the official forum page to see what you can get at each level.
